The annual CIS/MACS Welcome and Orientation event for new and returning majors will be held this year on Tuesday, September 28, from noon to 1 pm (returning majors: please note new day and time).
The program will be a bit different this year; we want everyone to be safe and comfortable, so we’ve decided to go with an outdoor ice cream social. You can find us at the covered area just outside the main (West) entrance to Deschutes Hall at noon.
There will be a short program followed by ice cream, conversation, and a chance for majors to meet with representatives from CIS student organizations, Tykeson advisors, CIS science librarian, and CIS faculty.
Prof. Michal Young will be leading an optional 11 am group bicycle ride across Frohnmayer Bridge and along the Willamette and the canoe canal. Easy, social pace, suitable for your own commuting bike or a rental bike. Meet 11 am at Deschutes main entrance. Bring your helmet!
This is a beautiful, four mile, flat course that you will finish with plenty of time to be back for the Welcome/Back celebration.
We look forward to seeing you!
