Professor Thien has recently received gift funds from Adobe Research to support his research activities in the areas of event detection, information extraction and natural language processing. The gift funding will provide the resources to help Dr. Thien and his team to investigate novel deep learning models to support representation learning for information extraction and their applications to identify events and relations from textual data with minimal training data. These gift funding will also help build and strengthen the collaboration between Adobe Research and the Department of Computer and Information Science at UO.
