Climate Change and the Internet

Perhaps climate change is not foremost on the minds of most Internet users, but this is soon bound to change. In a recent, pioneering, interdisciplinary paper, the UO's Ramakrishnan Durairajan and others at the University of Wisconsin found that, within the next 15 years, critical Internet hubs in several American cities will be affected by sea water. Much must be done both to protect existing infrastructure and to reimagine how future infrastructure will be deployed and managed.
