Description: The Biology Department owns over 100 laptops (Mac) that are essential to the instruction of our laboratory/discussion courses. The IT assistant in this position works with our Biology Lab Prep Operations Manager (Misty McLean-Schurbon) to setup and breakdown laptops based on course needs. In addition the IT assistant helps faculty and staff in troubleshooting hardware and software of the mobile laptops, as well as regular software updates. This position requires excellent customer service while assisting faculty, staff and students. In addition, the IT student worker must be able to work independently and be comfortable with Mac systems. Schedule of hours is based on your class schedule as well as the setup needs of the various courses.

Job Duties Include but not Limited to:
Setup & Breakdown of the mobile laptop (all Mac computers) fleet for Biology Courses
Regularly check Google Calendar for course computing needs
Software updates
Cleaning laptops as needed
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues
Light cleaning of shared space and lab space
Assist with other Biology Lab setups as needed

Required Qualifications:
Work study award required
Experience working with Mac OS
Ability to work calmly under tight time constraints
High attention to detail
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to check campus email and Google Calendar regularly
Preference given to applicants who have taken or are currently enrolled in Computer Science courses.
Familiarity working with Terminal commands is a plus
